October – 2011 cutest baby in cloth winner, new products, facebook and Accreditation!

Fall…its right around the corner…my favorite time of year…this year I got to attend the Real Diaper Industry Association (RDIA) Annual Meeting in Louisville, KY! I know I’m a dork…I embrace that…:) A few things from the meeting…

We will be working on getting our diaper service accreditation by the RDIA! Its a year long process but worth it to me…Super psyched about this…diapers will be tested monthly and we will be one of the first, of a set, of diaper services nationally that will have this GOLDEN honor!

We are now carrying SoftBums, Applecheeks and Rockin Green at the store…stop in…new products showing up weekly, we only post new products and sales on Facebook so definitely friend us to get the latest information HOT off the presses…

Our retail space has shifted recently (I hope temporarily) so look for us in the back of the store…you’ll see the signs

one last thing…the winner of the cutest baby in cloth for 2011 has been posted on the FB page…check it out…Maggie really worked the marketing angle and Riley…just too cute! Congrats to all three families that won…free service and/or store Gift certificates will be on their way! I LOVE LOVE LOVE giving stuff away…FACEBOOK FRIEND US WHILE YOU ARE THERE

OK…so last month I failed to send a newsletter…in fact, i don’t even know what happened in August it flew by so fast! So, we will start today anew…

1st Annual Diaper Swap! Date and site TBD…

Calling all Mommas that have cloth diapers just taking up space in their house…we are going to hold a cloth diaper swap…all diapers must be clean, sanitized and in usable condition (these are my only ‘rules’…oh and you MUST play nice!) YOU are responsible for selling, explaining, trading, bartering, etc…for all your own diapers. We are going to host this event so that Moms can come and sell/buy/trade cloth diapers. Although Craigslist and Diaperswappers are great tools…I thought it might be nice to SEE the diapers you are purchasing and be able to see other Mommas stuff at the same time…a one stop shop of sorts!

We will also be taking new and used diaper donations for the Cloth Diaper Foundation…an organization that goes into disaster ridden places and provides diapers to Moms and Babies! check out their site: www.clothdiaperfoundation.org

Hello friends!

Black Willow Pond Farm is very excited to be collaborating with Sonrise Diaper Service in establishing a farm to consumer CSA drop off location, bringing our farm products to you on a monthly basis!

We are a small family farm located in Cobleskill, NY.  Our farm focuses on raising grass based livestock and poultry, using sustainable and environmentally friendly production methods that mimic seasonal and natural cycles.  We take great pride in our animals, how they are raised and what they are fed.

Fresh from our farm we offer a great selection of quality meat, including: Pastured Poultry Chicken and Turkey, Grassfed Lamb, Pastured Rabbit and Pork.  Delicious and nutritious eggs are always available from our free ranging hens. June…11 new customers THIS week, the FARM CSA and GCDC 2012…

Hi Mommas and Poppas…

I’m soooo late with the newsletter this month…so sorry but we have had an addition of 11 customers THIS WEEK! Ashlee at Green Horizon asked me to take over her customers this past week as she is about to have her second child and her husband got a great job recently but he is away 5 days/week…he WAS her help! I was glad to ablige! Welcome aboard new Mommas and Poppas and I look forward to building relationships with you all! Blessings always to Ashlee and her expanding family!

We now have a small space at Tiny Tots Tea Room in Halfmoon/Clifton Park, Exit 8 on I-87…stop by and check it out… Its a play space for boys and girls NB-5yrs old…

We are discontinuing our packages going forward. Very few have been sold and its harder for me to keep track of them so…they are done. All the items are still available, just not in the “package” form.

Last but not least…we are starting to have meetings for the Great Cloth Diaper Chage 2012…get ready to “get your change on”…it will be bigger and better than last year…WE PROMISE! ANy ideas that you think would benefit attendees please send them along to vikki@sonrisediaperservice.com so I can talk about them with the other hosts…

MAy Newsletter

First and foremost a HUGE thank you to all the diaper changing families that attended the 1st annual Great Cloth diaper Change! WOOT WOOT…you guys helped us (and the RDA) to set a world record! The final tally is not in yet but i’ll post it as soon as its available on our Facebook page! Preliminary numbers show it to be:‎ 204 hosts reporting 6282 participants in 11 countries at last count…AWESOME! Thank you to Beth at DiaperEnvy.com in helping to set up and take care of all the vendor stuff, Jenn at EArthy Crunchy Mama for helping to announce the raffle winners and sending thank you notes, Ashlee at Green Horizon for getting lawn signs made and getting the registration site up and running and Kathleen from Gatesway Massage for keeping us on track with and announcing workshops, Alyssa and Mark Stagliano for keeping the registration process running smooth and last but NO WAY least my hubbie for working my table while I was working the room!

uh…what happened to March? Ok…so April…

yeah…really…what happened to March? Apparently I was in a fog during that month! So LOTS of stuff happening here…stay alert here it goes…

First and foremost…the STORE is OPEN! We are inside Polkadots in Guilderland on Western Avenue…it’s AWESOME! So comfy being around all that cloth…I know I’m nutz, but I’m OK with it! Stop in to see us and you will get a small surprise from me! I AM ONLY THERE ON SATURDAYS 10-3…we are open the same hours as Polkadots BUT I AM ONLY THERE ON SATURDAYS 10-3…you can purchase any item that is tagged within our area through the friendly Polkadots staff! If you have questions or need assistance picking things out, please email me and let me know you are coming…I may go out to get food or leave at 2p if I’m not too buzy OR if its a beautiful day!

Next – we are splitting our delivery days into two…its time! So, if you are North of Clifton Park your pickup day is Tuesday (leave dipes out on Monday night) if you live South of Clifton Park your pick up day is Monday (leave dipes out on Sunday night)…this does not affect MOST of you, and those of you that it does affect…we’ve already spoken.

One last thing, we are now using non-disposable tags on the yellow bags…you’ve all seen them and I’m loving that we are not throwing tags away weekly anymore! Let me know how you like them…or any other changes for that matter!

February Newsletter

Hellooooooo Mommas and Poppas…
I am going NuTz here ladies and gentlemen! We are doing the biggest and bestest (?) thing EVER…we are opening a storefront! WHEW HEW!!!! Totally psyched to do this as it is a dream come true and truly God at his best! So…we will be open for business on or before March 1st and we will be carrying LOTS of different diapers in the store…if there is anything you’d like to see PLEASE let me know so I can try to get it for you guys…I will be making Cameo appearances initially (I do have three little people and one BIG one to tend too!) I’ll list hours soon enough but you will be able to enter the shop between 10a-6p weekdays and a bit on the weekends BECAUSE it will be inside POLKADOTS CONSIGNMENT SHOP in Guilderland! A wonderful and inspiring woman named Saydra is allowing me to set up my shop inside hers!! So I will not be there at all time but you can purchase items through her and her staff any time they are open…AWESOME, right?! We will be located in the Park Place Plaza at 2563 Western Avenue in Altamont (for GPS users) but its actually in Guilderland. I’ll post more info as it becomes available but I had to tell someone…I’m psyched…you all KNOW I LOVE CLOTH DIAPERS!

Also, we are able to start offering our service customers recurring payments via credit card now! If this is something you may be interested in going forward please let me know as I have paperwork for you to fill out before I can do it.

I am working on getting a list of cloth diaper friendly daycares together for those of you that have a need…”working on” equates to “coming this summer”…

Thank you all so much for you support, business and referrals over the past 18months in helping me realize my dream and HOPEFULLY start to move forward even farther than I thought possible!

DIAPERS SAVED FROM THE LANDFILLS…

Hello All…so I was doing a quick calculation and realized that our service (and its customers) has saved over 70,000 diapers from being put into the landfills in our area! WHEW HEW!!! HOLY MOLEY!!! I had no idea that it would add up like this…I mean I guess I never thought about it! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL (and my youngest) for keeping these diapers out of landfills and keeping our world cleaner and greener for the next generation! SPREAD THE WORD!
