Counties covered: Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties, southern parts of Warren and Washington counties and northern parts of Columbia and Greene Counties.

What do I need, the essentials, for cloth diapering to work for my family?

Diapers, covers, hamper, and wipes, that’s really it! (As a side note: for my family we like to use the flushable liners also…it makes the poop-y clean up easier and a bit more tolerable for my husband!)

What type of diapers are you offering?

We will be offering Indian pre-folds in 6 sizes to get the perfect fit for your baby. See Package Pricing for more details.

Are you offering the launder of covers with your service?

We will not be offering laundry of the covers with the service packages at this time.

We do offer covers for sale. Our Trade UP! Program allows Sonrise clients to post used covers for sale, allowing other Sonrise families to take advantage of used products at a discounted or reduced price or even trade.

What brand of covers are you offering for sale through Sonrise Diaper Service?

We offer may different styles and options, see our retail store link on our homepage.  They come in white and fun prints!

Are there other folding options for prefolds?

See our folding techniques link.

What is the washing process for your service?

We are currently using a professional laundry service based in Clifton Park, NY. They have over 14 years experience with nursing home linens and therefore have a lot of experience with this type of linen.

We are always looking for a better way to serve our clients, and therefore we are keeping a lookout for new and improved washing processes that would allow for a lower environmental impact.

We do currently use bleach in our process…we also rinse thoroughly so that when we send our diapers for testing they have no residual Cl left in them. Babies bottoms are important to us, so we DO use bleach to kill virus’ and bacteria, BUT we also are sure there is no bleach left to harm your baby.

How do I store the soiled diapers?

In either a hamper or pail with a lid. Sonrise offers a hamper with a scented ‘deo-disk’ that works just like a clothes hamper. Using standard plastic garbage bags, once one is full, or too stinky, just replace the bag (bags provided) and place the full bag (tied off) in the place previously determined for pick up.

What do I do with the solids (POOP) in the diaper?

Simply shake what you can off into the toilet and place the soiled diaper into the hamper. Please DO NOT swish the diaper in the toilet. Get as much off as you can and let it be. Using the flushable liners helps with this…makes it easier to remove the solid poop.

What do I do if I start to get frustrated as a new Mom trying to cloth diaper?

FIRST…step away from the cloth! Trying harder and harder will only frustrate you more…take a breath and use a disposable if you need to…

Once you’ve gotten yourself together again…try it again…as Moms we have enough on our plate and we can’t be immediately great at EVERYTHING ALL of the time! Cloth can take some time to get used to and you should be excited that you are even attempting this for your baby(ies), your family and our environment…take your time and get used to it.

When should I schedule a demonstration of your products?

Schedule an in-home Consultation

My suggestion is to do this ASAP. Two reasons…#1 if you see what we offer and you want to use our service, you can place cards in your shower invitations to receive service from friends and family, #2 you will COMPLETELY distracted by your beautiful baby once they arrive therefore, getting your demo – and anything else that truly matters :) – completed before they arrive is your best bet! :)

Why choose Sonrise Diaper Service?

I have three children that have all been cloth diapered which I feel makes me somewhat of an expert, especially because the first two are twins and I am currently a certified Cloth Diaper Educator through the Real Diaper Association. Cloth Diapering is TRULY my passion and helping parents to use cloth (however it fits into their family) because THEY want to not because I want them to. We strive to provide excellent customer service and I am willing to help each and every family that contacts us to become successful at CD’ing their little people.
